For PDM Professional, it is recommended the Archive and Database servers are two separate, dedicated machines. Windows Server 2012, and 2012 R2 End of Extended support is approaching per the Lifecycle Policy: Windows Server 20 R2 Extended Support will end on October 10, 2023. It is not recommended to install any instances of other applications on the SOLIDWORKS PDM Archive or Database Server. As we introduce many innovations for Windows Server, support for older versions along with security updates released while the version is supported will come to an end.
