This print ran a little over 30 minutes faster than Cura was estimating (which I also know would have taken longer anyway) I used S3D's "High" quality setting. I really am impressed with the quality, and with the speed. The model I used is this scaled to 80% if anyone's interested. Take note of the details in the back, feet, hands - even the bat nipples (reminds me of Batman Forever). S3D varies the print speed by layer, and on those ear layers it dropped down to a crawl. You can tell up at the points of the ears that there were a few places it wanted to start stranding, but it did not happen. Look at the details I got on this Batman Budha I printed today (2 of the pictures I'm shining a bright flashlight on it which is highlighting the dust - those are not zits/blobs): I'ts beyond the quality of the cat print that comes on the SD Card with the printer. I have had almost zero zits/blobs, and I've have had no stranding / wispy lines (an issue I was having on Cura even with a significant retraction), and the prints are just gorgeous. The next thing I want to mention is that it blows my mind how much better my prints look. I really like this as I DON'T like to run the printer while I'm asleep, and I've had some prints keep me up much later than I wanted to be. When S3D shows me an estimated time, it's almost always spot on within a few minutes (I've had one that was about 15 minutes off for ~7 hour print). Cura would tell me a print would take 6 hours, it would really take 7-8 hours. That's one thing I want to mention right here S3D has a MP Mini profile built in (it doesn't specify between V1 or V2 - I have a V2 and have just been using the main MP Select Mini profile modifying only temp & infill settings) - but it's estimated times are MUCH more accurate than I was getting with Cura. Long story short, it did cut times (some of my 10-12 hour Cura prints were estimating 8-10 in S3D!). I was very happy with these Cura settings, and was mainly interested in Simplify 3D to see if it could cut times on my prints as I'd seen posts of people claiming it cut down significant time on their prints, and wanted to know if it would save "hours" on my longer 10+ hour prints as that would make it worth the $150 price tag for me. 2188 - each with their own speed & retraction settings). I've mainly been using Cura 2.7, and I've tried pretty much every recommended settings I've com across, and I've dialed in 3 that I've been very happy with (a "Fine". So to put everything out there up front I've only been 3D printing for a little over a month now, although my printers been running pretty much non-stop 12+ hours a day since then.
